For families

Can my family be paid to provide care?

In many cases, a family member may be able to serve as the paid caregiver, if North Dakota rules and the care authorization allow it.

What to know

Family is often the best caregiver

You already know your loved one's routines, preferences and needs. Through North Dakota's personal care programs, a family member may be able to be paid for the care they provide.

Whether that's possible depends on state rules, your loved one's eligibility, and what care is authorized. We'll give you honest guidance and help you understand your options.
